A slow, relaxed, gentle Latin piece featuring Alto Saxophone, Trumpet and Piano.
A slow, relaxed, gentle Latin piece featuring Alto Saxophone, Trumpet and Piano. An eight bar introduction sets the scene for the sensuous intertwining of two sinuous melodies (one from the Saxophones and the other from the Brass) accompanied by soft, pulsating Piano figures and underpinned by a gentle but insistent Bass riff.
Quietness and precision is needed to draw out the essence of the piece. The improvised solo section can be extended to feature all the bands’ soloists once the players are familiar with the piece. The role of the Rhythm Section is crucial requiring accuracy of observation of dynamics. A dramatic crescendo near the end is followed with the ‘soft sigh’, of the G13 chord!
